The best first calls are the ones where you feel in charge, and nothing on this page is meant to make you nervous. It is a short list of what you can press, what to keep to yourself and when to leave, so you can enjoy the conversation instead of worrying about it.
If you have not used BlushCall yet, the page on how BlushCall works shows where each of these controls sits.
Your Controls: Skip, End, Camera Off, Block, Report
Five things are always within reach, and none of them needs an explanation.
- Skip. Tap Next and you are on to someone else. This is the quickest way out of a call that is not working.
- End the call. The hang-up button ends it straight away. You do not have to say goodbye.
- Camera off. Switch your camera off mid-call and carry on talking, or take a breather.
- Block. From the other person's profile, block them so they cannot contact you again.
- Report. From the same profile, pick a reason and send a report so the team can look into it.
Use them early. Nobody has ever regretted skipping a conversation that felt wrong in the first minute, and the other person will have forgotten you by the next call.
What We Can and Cannot Promise
We can give you tools and keep them easy to find. We cannot check that a stranger is who they say they are, whether they are single or whether what they tell you is true. Nobody running a video chat site can, and any site that claims otherwise is overselling.
That is why the habits below matter more than any single feature. The rules for everyone who uses the site are in the BlushCall terms of service, and they say what behaviour gets an account removed.
What to Keep to Yourself
A first name or nickname is all anyone needs. Keep these back until you have talked several times and feel comfortable:
- Your surname, workplace, school and home address
- Your daily routine, such as when you are home alone
- Bank, card or payment details of any kind
- Passwords and the codes that arrive by text or email
Assume that anything you show on camera could be saved by the other person, because anyone on any platform can screen-record. How BlushCall handles the information you give it is set out in the BlushCall privacy policy.
Red Flags Worth Leaving Over
If you see any of these, end the call. You do not need to give the person a second chance.
- They ask for money, gift cards or "a small favour" with money in it.
- They push you to move to another app straight away.
- They send links and want you to click or log in.
- They insist you show more than you are comfortable with.
- Their story changes between minutes, or the details do not add up.
A good conversation does not need pressure. If you feel rushed, that feeling is the red flag.
How to Report Someone
- End or skip the call first. Your comfort comes before the paperwork.
- Open the person's profile. Reports and blocks are made from there.
- Choose a reason and add a line. A few words about what happened help the team look into it.
- Block them. This stops any further contact from that account.
If something serious happened, or you cannot find the button, write to BlushCall support with the time of the call and what was said.
If You Decide to Meet Offline
Most good video chats stay online, and that is fine. If you and someone else both want to meet, talk on video a few times first, choose a public place, tell a friend where you are going and arrange your own way home. The video dating page covers how to build trust on camera before you get to that stage.
Safety Questions
Is video chat with strangers safe?
It can be, if you treat it like meeting someone at a party: friendly, curious and a little careful. Keep identifying details private, skip anything that feels off and use block and report whenever you need to.
Can someone record my video call?
Anyone on any platform can screen-record a call, so assume what you show on camera could be saved. Do not do or say anything on a call that you would not be comfortable seeing shared.
What should I do if someone is rude or inappropriate?
Skip or end the call straight away, then block them and report them from their profile. You do not owe an explanation or a polite goodbye.
Does BlushCall check who I am talking to?
BlushCall does not verify identities or relationship status, so you cannot assume that what someone tells you is true. That is why the habits on this page matter more than any single feature.
